Sitting UP!

Harrison is sitting up!

He doesn't actually sit up himself, but if you set him down, he can hold himself up! Of course I put a few pillows behind him for when he gets off balanced he'll have a safe landing. He likes that he is able to sit up, it's a different view and it allows him to play with toys better. Next thing I know he'll be crawling, walking, talking, running, going to school, going to college, getting married, having babies...Whah!!!! I better not blink!!!!

Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease

Found out yesterday that Hunter has Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease (viral infection, caused by the Coxsackie A-16 virus). He started breaking out in a weird rash on Tuesday afternoon (red spots on the palm of his hands, soles of his feet and blister patches on his legs and feet). The blisters almost looked like poison ivy, but they weren't itchy. Other than the rash, he was fine - no fever, no loss of appetite, he was drinking plenty of fluids. We were scared of staph, so we took him to the doctor yesterday and she looked at the spots and looked inside his mouth and found little mouth ulcers. He wasn't complaining abou his mouth hurting and he was still eating/drinking, I never thought to look in his mouth for sores. No antibiotic for viral infections so it'll just run it's course (10 days), but she did tell us to mix maalox, benadryl and lidocaine together to swab in his mouth if he's in pain. We were able to get the pharmacy to mix up the solution just in case, so we have it if he starts to hurt. He's definitely a trooper, this has not slowed him down one bit! I'm hopeful that Harrison will not get it since he's a breastfed baby and the doctor agreed with me, so that's comforting.

Coloring in Bed

We (Hunter and I) were waiting for Aaron to get home from Oklahoma (moved his dad back to AR this weekend) and I was keeping him up so he could see his daddy and he had been coloring in my bed and I told him, "Hunter pick up your crayons.". After a few moments, I turned around to tell him for a second time to pick them up and to my surprise, his crayons were in his cup and his coloring books were even stacked! Wow, I only had to tell him once! He CAN listen! I called Aaron to see how much longer it would be until he got home and Hunter was excited to talk to him and he said "Daddy, I colored for you!". Awe! Kids can be SOOOO sweet!!! Now he's asking me.."Daddy be home?" (translation - When will Daddy be home?) and he's asking "Papaw come?". They really know how to melt your heart!

Reel It, Hunter, Reel It!

We were finally able to go out in the boat and take Hunter fishing Thursday night. I wouldn't let Aaron put a hook on his fishing pole until I could come along. I can't say it's his first fish he caught since Aaron "set the hook", but it's his first fish he REELED in! He reeled in four fish and he kissed each one! We all had a great time! Hunter has the "fishing fever"! This morning he was talking in his sleep saying, "Daddy, No - I go fishing.". Makes his daddy proud!

Movie Night at Midtown Bryant

Last night we went to Midtown Bryant to watch Cars on an outdoor screen. All summer long they are playing Disney movies for FREE! It's a really neat thing, really great for families, especially us with the small ones that can't sit still long in a movie theater and we are able to take Harrison with us. We sat in our lawn chairs and put a blanket down for Hunter. We are going to make this our Friday night outing for the summertime! Harrison - 5 months old!

Wow - has it really been FIVE months? He is truly getting to be a big boy! He still looks like Aaron! He weighs 19lbs! Big boy! He is sleeping in his crib now, although he wakes up about 3am to eat, so he's in bed with me from 3am - until we wake up. Hopefully soon, he'll start sleeping through the night. He loves baby cereal and baby food (likes applesauce and banana the best). He's wearing 6-9 month clothes, although some 6 months are too small. He's still wearing a Size 3 diaper and I had the guy at Shoe Carnival measure his foot the other day, size 3. I don't put many pairs of shoes on his feet yet, I figure why? he's not walking yet!

Cousin Cooper's 4th Birthday

Cooper James Allen is 4!!! He turned four on Wednesday, June 10th. He is 9 months older than Hunter and they have a love/hate relationship! His birthday theme was Spiderman/Transformers. He was most proud of the motorcycle bike he got from mom and dad and a 4 wheeler from his big brother Brandon!

Eureka Springs Railway Company

We visited a railway company that housed old trains and they also offer a lunch/dinner train ride as well. It was closed on Sunday, but Hunter had a blast playing around on the old trains - he was in HEAVEN!

Train #201 was a train that Aaron used to play on as a child. It used to be located in Benton, AR at Tyndall Park. Aaron really thought it was neat that Hunter got to play on something that he did as a child.

Christ of the Ozarks

Before leaving to come back home from Eureka Springs on Sunday, we decided to make a pit stop at The Great Passion Play to see the Christ of the Ozarks statue. Hunter knew it was Jesus! I love how "small" he looks compared to the statue!

Trip to Berryville/Eureka Springs, AR

We drove to northwest Arkansas this past weekend for a wedding (Treven Butler, my cousin Tammy's oldest son). We stayed in Eureka Springs on Saturday night since the wedding didn't start until 7pm. The trip up wasn't too bad, although we had to wait 45 minutes to check in because our room wasn't ready yet. To pass the time, we decided to drive through Eureka Springs. We weren't too impressed...it's a nice quaint little town, very historical looking, but we we were wondering what the fuss was all about. It was great seeing all of my "Morris" cousins and my Uncle Jim and Aunt Marcella never seem to age - they look the same (if not better) than they did 30 years ago! It was quite funny, when I saw that all the girls (Trena, Teresa and Tonya) were wearing black/white, I thought to myself, "I didn't get the memo to wear black/white". I wore black dressy capris and a black/white top, funny how I am so much like them. At one point during the wedding, I told Hunter "Look at the pretty princess" and his reply, "Where's Shrek?". How cute! The wedding was beautiful and I hope Treven and Angela have a happy marriage! Hunter had a blast playing with Jimmy's girls Destiny and Aly - they were such beautiful little girls and were mother hen's to Hunter. Of course everyone said that Harrison looked so much like his daddy. It was a long day and we were so tired, we all slept good that night. Before heading back to Little Rock, we decided to go see the Christ of the Ozarks. When Hunter saw the big statue, I asked him who that was and he said "Jesus!". The statue is so HUGE! Afterwards, we took Hunter to this Railway place that had old trains that you could look at, the place was closed, but we were still able to let Hunter walk around and play on the trains. There was a train that used to be located in Benton at Tyndall Park that is now in Eureka, we have pics of Hunter playing on a train that Aaron once played on as a child, Aaron thought that was neat. Hunter was definitely a happy boy around all those trains, it was like a kid in a candy store! The drive home was not pleasant, EVERYWHERE we stopped there was a line - didn't matter...we stood in a line to eat, to pee, to get gas...we were all ready to get out of the car and be HOME! What should have only taken 3 1/2 hours, took us 5 hours! I'll post pics later...
